Winter Bronzing Tips

Everyone wants to keep that gorgeous summer bronze all through the year, because nothing makes you feel better in cold weather than having a healthy glow. Some misguided souls resort to tanning beds in the wintertime, but save your skin the UV damage and remember these tips for staying golden tanned throughout the year.

  • Be Subtle – If you’re looking to build a natural looking tan with a bronzer, then that’s your key word: build. Snag a self-tanner that gradually builds color. Most self-tanning lotions that claim to get you dark quickly can have that orange undertone that so often is a dead giveaway.
  • Be Bronzed – If you decide to go the bronzer route for your face in the wintertime, remember to buy a bronzer that is only one shade darker than your natural skin tone. You may be able to get away with more than that in the summertime, but paler skin requires more subtlety. Also, be sure to buy a matte bronzer to keep the look even more natural. Save the shimmer for summer.
  • Be Bold – Winter is a great time to experiment with a bronzed-out look, which is fabulous for holiday parties and special occasions. Get a metallic gold liner to pair with a more subtle gold shimmer eye shadow. Then finish off with bronzer instead of blush for a solid-gold evening look for the win!
