Look Your Best Tips From Chase Aston: Luscious Looking Lips
Last time, Chase Aston explained his techniques for getting the perfect celebrity look. This time, The Body Shop is happy to present his tips on how to keep your lips looking their best, and how to choose the right color for you.
On choosing lip color - Never match your lip color to your clothes, so find shades that you feel comfortable wearing and that complement your skin tone. If your skin tone is fair, then true pinks will work best. Colors like nudes, sheer apricot and rich berry tones are also perfect for fair skin tones, so avoid browns. If you have freckles, then a pink-bronze with brown-red hues will also suit you.
If you have a pale to medium complexion, you can wear the same shades as above, but try hues with more depth, such as rich rose-pink shades, or peach and burgundy tones, but avoid real reds. For those with olive-skin tones, stay away from pop candy pinks or cool shades as they can make you appear washed out— instead, try hues of brown and rich berry tones.
Finally, for warm to dark skin tones: caramel, honey and toffee tones are perfect for a natural day lip look. For the evening, rich berry tones, plum, wine and deep bronze infused with gold shimmer look great.
Remember, finding the right texture that suits you best and your lifestyle is up to you. A lip stain will last all day, and can always be layered with either a gloss or lipstick. Once applied, lipstick will give you a more solid texture unless you are wearing a sheer formulation. Gloss, however, can be worn alone, over a Lip & Cheek stain, over a lip pencil, and over lipstick. Remember, though, gloss has to be reapplied more frequently than other lip products.
On avoiding dry lips - To remove dry and flaky skin, use The Body Shop LipScuff to gently exfoliate lips, then keep lips moist and tender by applying The Body Shop LipCare to bare lips. Apply before adding lip colour for a smooth satin lip look, or whenever your lips start to feel dry.
