Runway Report: Day 5 and the last day of Fashion Week!
Vauxhall Fashion Scout sadly draws to a close today, but what a week it’s been! Over the last 5 days, the talented head make-up artist Lan and team have created show stopping make-up looks to complement over 30 shows …phew! Here is a selection of our favourite highlights from the week, but as always we would love to hear your thoughts…….
Stores - London was buzzing during Fashion Week and even the windows of our flagship stores on Oxford Street had a makeover for the occasion with screens representing eyes, lips and cheeks showing animated films of different looks.

Vauxhall Fashion Scout sadly draws to a close today, but what a week it’s been! RUNWAY REPORT: DAY 4
Well we can’t quite believe it ourselves but the penultimate day of Vauxhall Fashion Scout SS/13 is already upon us! But before the shows come to a close tomorrow we did manage to catch up back stage with Head Make-up Artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis who gave us an exclusive on this season’s must-have beauty trends and products, as well as sharing hints and tips to help make sure we stay bang on trend this Spring/Summer.
How do you decide on a make-up look for each show? For each show the make-up is unique to the designer. The overall feel of the collection and the colours behind it will help me dictate what the best makeup look should be - it is all about the character of the model and what she is representing. I do lots of research prior to the show and the team comes together to decide and test the look, sometimes it can take days of preparation to decide!
Where do you find your inspiration? I find my inspiration through the designer, hairstylists, books, paintings, references from other shows and of course mainly through what products are available out there at the moment - the colours you have can sometimes dictate what you can achieve. I’m always looking for innovative products to experiment with. Together all these elements inspire me.
What are the top five make up trends you are forecasting for spring summer 2013?
Coloured smokey eye
The colour eyeliner flick
Matte skin
The nude lips
The strong blush
What is the essential must-try make up trick for spring summer 2013? The must try essential this season is to apply strong kohl pencil followed by eyeshadow directly on top of the line and smudged out for natural smokey eyes.
What is the feature which is going to be most in focus for spring summer make up? The focus is going to be more on eyes. Whether the shape is round or angular, it’s about perfection in application of the product on the face
Top 5 ‘Make-up Saviours’
Using All-In One BB Cream all over the face really starts the day off with everything your skin needs; it’s hydrating and doesn’t mask, giving you an even colour and coverage.
The Lip & Cheek Tint is a real gem as you get a natural stain that lasts all day and in the evening you can intensify by adding more.
The Radiant Highlighter is great to mix in with concealer to brighten the eyes and add higher definition to the cheekbones.
Something so simple but to keep your brows in place using the Brow & Lash Gel is great for keeping your brows looking groomed. After use the Brow & Lash Kit to complete the shape which lasts all day.
Using The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist is great for bringing back your make-up to life throughout the day, keeping your skin fresh and dewy.

RUNWAY REPORT: DAY 2

Following the inspirational creations of yesterday’s designers, the ‘Ones To Watch’ kicked off day two of Vauxhall Fashion Scout to another full house. Guests swarmed to Great Queen Street, WC2B to see the collections of four talented designers - Charlotte Simpson, Hana Cha, Hellen Van Rees and Ming Pin Tien.

From runway to real-life; head make-up artist Lan chose a natural look to complement the Ones To Watch designs, easily transferable off the catwalk to be achieved at home. A natural, fresh base was created using our new All-In-One BB Cream, contoured cheeks using the new All-In-One Cheek Colours and nude understated lips.

But the highlight of the day was the preview of the new Colour Crush in Berry Cherry eye shadow launching next Spring, which featured in Ji Cheng’s show.
