Style Predictions for 2009
One of the most exciting things about the start of a new year is looking ahead to predict what fresh ideas and trends will have us all inspired in 2009. We’ve made our rounds, browsing through beauty and fashions blogs, and 2009 is going to be infused with the spirit of change. From the novel colors ready to grace Spring fabrics, to cutting-edge accessories for the truly fashion forward, we’ve added them all to our list of favorite style predictions for 2009.
- Over at What Goes Around Comes Around, they’ve posted the PANTONE® Fashion Color Report for 2009, and it’s rife with brilliant Technicolor shades. Bold sapphire blues and rich fuchsias will look stunning on tanned summer skin, and there are some delicate pastels for the more demure among us. When wearing colors this vibrant, the trick is too keep your make up minimal, so try a sheer color on your lips for an understated compliment.
- And speaking of make up, Beauty and Hairstyles for Women has snagged some photos of the make up trends that are on the verge of breaking out in 2009. Rich gold and silver eye shadow swept all over lids is a particularly head-turning look that caught our attention, and depending on your skin tone, you can absolutely pull off one or both of these looks flawlessly.
- Women will be thrilled to see the bold styles in pumps and heels that will be walking their way down sidewalks this year. Ssasy Chic shows us that T-straps and playful prints make conservative looks a definite thing of the past. Plus, the Zappos.com blog taught us all about the eco-friendly shoes that are becoming more and more popular. Using materials like recycled car tires and organic cotton, these shoes make our conservationist hearts happy!
- When it comes to fashion trends for 2009, Fashion Tips and Fashion Advice Made Simple did make it simple for us by compiling a list of trends on the verge. We’re thrilled to see our favorite (and comfortable!) boyfriend jeans make the list, as well as big, chunky jewelry and the aforementioned bold and bright colors.
- Pixie cuts and edgy, cropped looks abound in hair style predictions for 2009, or at least according to the sources at Global Fashion Report. They also report spotting peroxide blonde locks on their radar as the next big thing in hair color. The platinum blonde look is eye-catching and glamorous, but it can really do some damage to weak tresses. Be sure you have a restorative product on hand to soothe over processed hair.
