How To Get Sandal Ready Feet

Remember that incredible pair of strappy sandals that you bought on sale last summer? Well, the time has come to pull them from your closet and give them their seasonal debut, but first take a little time out for yourself. In these trying economic times, a full foot pampering at home is an inexpensive way to spend some time treating yourself without tricking your wallet. And taking time to prepare your feet before you rock those strappy sandals and heels will have you feeling every inch of the summer siren you’re bound to be on the beach. It’s the most stylish look for the summer season!

In order to get those feet in shape, we’ve got a few easy suggestions about how to give yourself the perfect foot treatment. And these 3 steps are easy, so you won’t have to drop the cash on a professional visit to the spa.

  • Start Soaking – Start of with a relaxing soak to soften tough skin. Soaks are an amazing foot treat after a long, hard day, especially in the summertime, when feet have a tendency to become swollen. Your feet take a huge beating throughout the day, and most of the time they are shamefully neglected, considering all of the work they do. Unwind by pouring Peppermint Cooling Foot Soak in a bowl of warm water for about 15 minutes. Aside from being relaxing, this will help soften the skin on your feet for the next step on your pampering.
  • Scrub – After the skin on your foot has been softened up, it’s time to scrub off the dead skin. Though it isn’t intuitively obvious to most people, dry skin still needs to be exfoliated on a regular basis, and that cracked skin on your heels is no exception. If you just need an overall scrub, try massaging in the Peppermint Cooling Pumice Foot Scrub using circular motions. For trouble spots like your heels, the side of your big toe, and the ball of your foot— use a tool with a more targeted approach. The Spoon Foot File is perfect for the heel, and the Wooden Foot File works wonders on your soles.
  • Soften – Your final step is to moisturize. Your feet need to be moisturized just like any other stretch of skin, so make sure you pay extra attention to their level of dryness. If they just need a normal moisturizer, then smooth on the Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion. If they are craving serious moisture, then try covering a thick layer of the Peppermint Cooling Foot Rescue Treatment with the Moisture Booties before going to bed. When you wake in 8 hours, you’ll have soft skin ready for “having your feet out.”

Another easy trick is to stash the Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray in the fridge. When things get really hot and sweaty, pull it out and give your feet a couple of spritzes to revive them. It also smells delicious, too!

  1. HOME MADE EGG MASK FOR HAIR: Take one whole egg mix it perfectly with one tea spoon of yougurt, add one tea spoon honey and blend it with one table spoon of mustard oil.

Apply the mixture on your hair for one hour, use a towel or a cloth to wind up your hair so that mixture won’t flow on you.

Then shampoo twice and use intense conditioning for perfectly health, shiny, dandruff free and full of volume hair.

  2. Thanks for sharing the recipe! We love hearing about natural ways to keep your hair and skin looking healthy.

A good way to follow that with intense conditioning is to use our Honey Moisturizing Conditioner, which uses the natural properties of honey for thirsty hair!

  3. Thanks for posting “How to get sandal ready feet”. AND I would love to follow
your instructions if you didn’t ELIMINATE the PEPPERMINT COOLING FOOT RESCUE
TREATMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why oh why would you take this off the available list
of items? Why don’t you bring it back? I can’t be the only one who liked it.
I am thinking of trying the lotion, but I have no expectation that it will
work anything like the Foot Rescue Treatment. Please consider returning this
item to the available list of items!
Thank you very much, Darlene Kinner

  4. I can’t believe that right after I wrote that last message, I started to put in an order and am so grateful to see that you did return the Peppermint Cooling

I can’t believe that right after I posted the July 16 comment, I started to put in an order and was so grateful to see that you did indeed restore the Peppermint Cooling Foot Rescue Treatment. It is somewhat different from the first jar that I purchased at the Palisades Mall (called “Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue”)-some ingredients are gone and others added.(8 gone,
5 added). One ingredient that is added is parfum, which I’m not crazy about, but I’ll have to wait and see. Whatever the differences, I thank you for putting a similar item in it’s place. Thanks again, DK

  6. I bought a product from you called “Vitamin C Skin Boost” and since have not been able to find the product. I have turned on to 2 other people that are very interested in it, but once you seem to have a sale on something, it disappears.
When I like a product and find it useful, I stay to it. This is one of them and took my time to “advertise to others” to find it not available anymore, so therefore I am searching for another place to bring my businesss. I love your products. Please don’t get me wrong, but I need something that works and that I like.
Thanks for your time in this situation. My email is dhuffman2005@yahoo.com.
    Sincerely,
Douglas Mark Huffman (PO Box 1665…Westwood, CA…96137-1665)

  7. Hey Doug, no worries!

Our Vitamin C Skin Boost is available on our website, just in case you can’t find it at your local Body Shop store. And there’s plenty more where that came from!

  8. Please bring the almond body butter and scrub to the online and/or stores now that it is no longer available through the discontinued “at home” body shop line. It is my all time favorite- I have many people who absolutely love it when they are guest at my home and try it…but I am now completely out and in definite despair because of it. The almond line is my all time favorite!!!! Please make it readily available again!!!! I greatly appreciate your time and attention given to my personal request!!
    Best Regards,
    Cyndi

  9. Hello Cyndi!
We’re so glad you’re such a devoted fan of our Almond products! Although we don’t have any current plans to bring those products back, they do sometimes show up in sales events, so keep your eyes peeled in stores and online. In the meantime, have you tried our Shea Body Butter? Its delicious smell might remind you a bit of your beloved Almond!

  10. Hi, can you tell me if the cooling leg gel is safe in pregnancy? Thanks

    Comment by Jane — December 17, 2009 @ 6:48 am

  11. Hi Jane!

Thanks for your question. The Peppermint Cooling Leg Gel contains 0.4% peppermint oil, which is below the level where we would put any sort of warning label for pregnant women, so it should be just fine. However, if you ever have any concerns about the use of any product during pregnancy, it’s always best to consult your physician!
