Ideas for Getting Political this Halloween

This Halloween, the perfect costume is almost too easy. In the style of Tina Fey, everyone is clamoring to transform themselves into the ladies of the Presidential campaign. Fortunately, each of the ladies has a very distinct (and yet easy to duplicate) makeup look. Here’s your no-fail guide to recreating the looks:

Sarah Palin
Here are the keys to looking like the Hockey Mom turned possible Veep:

  • A bold line of warm blush applied under the cheekbones.
  • A very nude shade of lip color. (our Beech Lipliner would be perfect!)
  • Brown eyeliner with a thick coat of mascara on the bottom lashes.
  • Practice winking and giving the thumbs-up.

Michelle Obama
Recreate the look of the fashion plate of the campaign with these key elements:

  • Highlighted brow bones and cheekbones
  • Black liquid Eyeliner on the top only, with a volumizing mascara
  • A neutral, matte lip color
  • A group of followers to buy and wear the same dress as you

Cindy McCain
To get Cindy McCain’s trademark look, you only need three products:

  • Apply lots of black mascara. And then some more. Repeat.
  • A matte bronzer worn as a blush.
  • Red, red lips.
  • Apply some more mascara.

Hilary Clinton
To play the role of the former first lady, think “middle of the road” color.

  • A creamy berry shade of lip color.
  • A soft rose blush
  • A soft line of gray eyeliner and brown mascara
  • Waterproof mascara (just in case you tear up)
