How To Get The Look - Metallic Eye

Some tips on how to wear our Metallic Eye Definers for day and evening without overdoing it.

I get asked a lot of questions about how to wear brightly colored eyeliner. The trick is to keep your entire eye muted except for the eyeliner, and you should either line your upper lid or lower, not both. Our Precious Pearlescents fall collection has all of these rich, vibrant Metallic Eye Definers to play with, so I wanted to do a quick tutorial on the best way to wear them for a pop of color.

  • As always, prime your eye with Skin Primer Matte It. This helps to absorb whatever oils are on your eye, to help your vibrant colors last throughout the entire day, and I cannot stress enough what a lifesaver primer can be for vibrant eye looks.
  • Take Eye Trio Shade 02: Sundown Glow, and begin by covering your entire lid in the medium shade. These colors are very buildable, but also have a bit of shimmer to them. Be light-handed if you’re going for a daytime look, because you can always build up the shade.
  • Take the lightest shade in the trio and use it around your tear duct and as a highlight just under your brow.

  • Next, take a Metallic Eye Definer in a shade that compliments your eye color. I chose blue to make my brown eyes stand out more. Line just underneath your bottom lash line, and bring the color just into the outer corner of your eye.
  • Use the Slanted Brush to gently smudge the line, bringing it up around your outer corner to smudge that as well. This will prevent you from having a harsh or dated look.

  • You can take this look from daytime to nighttime with just a few quick steps. Take the darkest shade in the Eye Trio Shade 2: Sundown Glow and gently sweep it into your crease to smoke out the look a bit.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with these incredible shades. Just remember to only draw attention to one area of your face, rather than having bold shades everywhere. That’s the best way to maximize boldness impact!
