How To Get The Look - Hot Brights
I am so excited about our new Hot Brights makeup line for the summer. These are some of the trendiest colors in vibrant, gorgeous shades, snuggled up in dual packaging together for easy matching. Many people aren’t really aware of how vividly pigmented our makeup actually is, so I’m happy to present a how-to with swatches of our new summer shades. There are plenty of photos ahead, but first check out the cute graffiti-inspired packaging!
As I mentioned, each of the products from this collection is actually a duo, which not only gives you more bang for your buck, but they’re also fun to use. Because I used the colors dry, this tutorial is a little more subtle than some of the others we’ve featured.
And now for some color swatches. You can really see how vibrant these shades are.
Begin by using something light as a foundation, otherwise the heat is going to make you look like a melting candle. I love Nature’s Minerals Foundation because it’s lightweight AND has SPF 25 in it, which means I don’t need to put a sunscreen on first, which can sometimes get greasy.
Eyes
- Because these colors are really rich and vibrant, you’ll want to use a primer for your face to help them last, especially on your eyes. Gently dab on and rub in the Matte It Face & Lips primer on your eyes before putting on anything else.
- Use the Eyeshadow Brush to pack Eye Color shade 01: purple onto your lid. If you really want it to stand out, use a bit of a darker color as the base, and pack the purple on top. I brushed on a bit of Nature’s Minerals Eye Color in shade 06: Molten Bronze as a base.
- Next, I like to take a bit of Eye Color shade 02: blue onto the Eyeshadow Blender Brush and work it into my crease. This gives a really nice base for the Nature’s Minerals Eye Color shade 06: Molten Bronze, and the blue and brown together help to give the look some depth. Make sure to bring a bit of the color down underneath the outer corner of your eye as well, about ¼ of the way in. This will create that smoky eye look.
- Take a smaller brush (I like to use the Lipstick/Concealer Brush for precision), and sweep on Eye Color shade 01: light purple just below your eyebrows and in your tear duct area for highlight.
- Use either end of the Eyeliner shade 01: purple to line under your lashes. Then use Eye Definer shade 01: black to line your waterline (the inside of your lower lash line, closest to your eye).
Cheeks
- Take Blush shade 02: bronze (the darker shade) and use the Blusher Brush to sweep it over the apples of the cheeks. This is a shimmery shade, so be a little more heavy-handed if you’re heading out for the evening.
Lips
- Use the Lips & Cheeks shade 01: pink stain on bare lips. Then take Lips & Cheeks shade 02: peach (the glossy part) and smooth on over top. The heavier your eye makeup is, the lighter you want to go on your lips, so as not to detract from the fabulous colors on your eyes.
Okay, ready? Here’s the final look. Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments section!

Hey, I was in one of your stores and there was a picture of a model with a bronze inspired look on her eyes. I would love to see a step by step of that look, i think its name was bronze goddess in the little free booklets.
