How To Get The Look - Eye Brightening
Tired eyes? Brighten them up with this quick & easy How To Get The Look!
With work and school back in full fall swing, some of you may be, like I am, struggling with an old beauty foe: lack of sleep. Sleep is usually what we sacrifice when things start to get busy, and losing those hours can really do a number on how you look, especially around the eyes.
This is a quick tutorial on how to keep your eyes looking bright and fresh, regardless of whether or not you got your full 8 hours the night before.
Step 1: De-Puff
Choose a product that is going to give you some pretty immediate results by firming and reducing puffiness. I love the Elderflower Cooling Eye Gel because it feels refreshing while it works, which is a great morning pick-me-up.
Use your ring finger to apply, gently patting the product down underneath your eye. Be careful not to rub the delicate skin! You can bring it up around your brow bone as well, but you don’t really need to take it on to your lid very much.
Step 2: Prime
After the eye area has been properly moisturized and protected, it’s time to prime and prepare it for makeup. Use Lightening Touch to illuminate the under eye area, which can tend to look shadowy with dark circles when we don’t get enough sleep.
Dab a few dots into the corner of your eye and blend outward, taking the product underneath the eye. You don’t need to apply it thickly underneath your whole eye, simply blend outward gently with a Lipstick/Concealer Brush using the diagram below as a guide.

Step 3: Brighten
The next step is to apply your eye makeup as usual, however, there are a few quick tips you can use to really open up your eyes and make them look more awake.
Be sure to take a super light shade into the inner corners of your eyes around the tear ducts. Eye Shimmer in both Shade 01: Silver and Shade 02: Gold are excellent choices, because they also offer a light-reflecting shimmer. Take these just under your brow bone, as well, to complete the eye-opening effect.
