Did You Know?
Whenever I’m in a Body Shop store somewhere, I inevitably hear someone exclaim, “I didn’t know they sold those!” People often find some treat in our stores that they may have accidentally overlooked online, so I’m here today to be a bit of a concierge for some of the lesser-known (and surprising) products that The Body Shop has to offer.
- Car Diffuser – My least favorite thing in the world are those ugly, gummy air fresheners that hang from your rearview mirror. Not only are they unattractive, but they smell cheap and artificial— which really isn’t the way to create a spa-like atmosphere for your commute to work. Here’s a solution: a car diffuser for your favorite home fragrance scents in transit. You just drip the scents onto cotton pads and tuck them inside the diffuser, which plugs in and gently warms. The perfect way to get a scent that’s more “summer retreat,” and less “eau de truck stop.”
- Sugaring Hair Removal – Sugaring is an ancient hair removal technique which is meant to be better for your skin and less painful. The best sugaring wax is made of the most natural ingredients possible, creating less of an opportunity for irritation. One of our brand-new products is our Sugaring Hair Removal system, formulated with Community Trade organic sugar. Less irritating and less filling. Sweet!
- Vitamin E Everyday Summer Face Lotion – Sun can be hard on the delicate skin of your face, especially after spending a winter indoors. If you’re being diligent about protecting your face from the sun, that’s good news for your skin health, but bad news for your skin color. If your face is lacking in the tan department, then turn to the Vitamin E Everyday Summer Face Lotion, which gradually builds the color of the skin using a naturally derived self-tanner. Skip the sunburn red or the spray tan orange and go for a subtle, natural glow instead.
- Almond Oil Nail & Cuticle Treatment – I bet you didn’t know we did nail care, huh? This genius little stick is often overlooked, but it’s like a nail salon in your bag. Convenient and multi-purpose, the brush part spreads softening oil over cuticles while the top can be used like an orange stick to push back creeping cuticles. It also helps to whiten and strengthen nails, not to mention that it smells a bit like dessert.
- Chrome Atomizer – You know that feeling when you are traveling with a bottle of your favorite scent, and you try to be cautious, but when you open your bag you think, “Oh, yes, that IS my cologne that burst open and drenched my bag in scent.” That can be avoided, you know. Scents can live in this handy little atomizer, which can go to the gym or for rides in planes. And you never have to worry about that awkward extra 15 feet of space people give you when you smell like the entire fragrance department.

The Almond Oil and Nail Cuticle treatment is one of my favorites. I always have it in my bag, and not only does it help my nails look great, it gives me something to play with, instead of ripping my cuticles up out of boredom.

I am very disappointed that you closed the store in Newport, R.I. (Brick Market) The closest one now is in Providence. It was so convenient for me to go there whenever I ran out of something. Y es, I can order online, however I’m not a big fan of shipping charges. You must order $50 worth to get free shipping!!!
Sorry to see you go!!

Help. I bought the sugaring hair removal roll-on product. Love it. Have used a similar product overseas. That product had instructions on how to clean the roller. This one doesn’t.
Can’t I clean it between uses.
Also, is there a place where the instructions that came with the product can be downloaded or printed. They are in very very tiny type (which is difficult, but not impossible to read) and they are attached to the container with a “post-it” type of sticky stuff. I’m afraid I’ll lose them.

Hi Magan!
For best results, heat the Sugaring Roll-On Hair Removal in a bowl of boiled water for 15 minutes before dispensing and remove with our Cotton Sugaring Strips.
To clean, take one of the strips and coat it with baby oil. Then rub the strip over the roller from left to right. Clean an area and then roll and clean again until the entire roller is clean and running smoothly.
Hope that helps!
