Things You Can’t Do With Body Shop Products
Each year, The Body Shop introduces a bevy of innovative products that adhere to our 5 Core Values, so you can feel good about using them. And while our products were created to meet a wide range of home, health, and beauty needs, there are still some things that you just shouldn’t do with them. Here’s a brief list to help keep your expectations in line.
- Though it’s creamy and smells just as delicious as your favorite toast topper, we advise against eating body butter as a part of a balanced breakfast. Sure, it’s boasts as many nourishing vitamins and minerals as a serious smoothie, but it’s for your skin! Don’t get jealous.
- Have you been staring at that battered old heirloom dresser and thinking about how dated and out-of-place it looks in your bedroom? Well, we’re sorry to say you can’t use our Lip & Cheek Stain to give it a fresh new look. Though our stain gives a vibrant wash of color to your face, we think the formula might be a little too glossy for your dresser’s taste.
- Though they come lined up neatly and tucked into a matchbook, we don’t suggest you use our mini nail files to try and light any fires.
- There’s nothing like that first cup of aromatic coffee on a sleepy morning. But if you’ve accidentally run out of milk, we advise against reaching for our Dreamboat Milk Bath to make your coffee that creamy flavor you want. Milk is known to help moisturize dry skin, which makes it perfect for a bath soak. For coffee, we suggest sticking with the more appropriate option of half & half.
- With the holiday season upon us, parties and entertaining opportunities abound. It’s probably been about a year since you last used all of that nice silverware your mother gave you when you moved into your place. Though it’s going to need some definite TLC, please don’t use our Satsuma Polish on your utensils. The finely ground walnut shells are excellent for gently exfoliating skin, but we’re afraid they’d scratch that nice silver, not to mention leave a gritty aftertaste.
- Does the season have you a bit frazzled? Drinking too much at holiday parties, and then consuming your body weight in coffee to wake up again in the morning? We understand your need for a system detox, but our Pure Detox Refreshing Body Moisturizer isn’t the way to sober up. It will, however, help to remove impurities from your skin as it moisturizes, and when you’re trying to feel rejuvenated, your skin is a pretty good place to start.
- Having trouble deciding on the right dessert for that big holiday family dinner? Well, just be sure you don’t serve up our Guarana Volumizing Mousse. Though it’s light and fluffy texture will tempt you, it isn’t as kind on the taste buds as it is the hair, which will have body without dulling residue.
We hope this list hasn’t rained on your Body Shop parade too much, but we did need to clarify a few things before any distressed customers phoned our call center. Do you have any experiences or ideas about how not to use Body Shop products? We’d love to hear about them in the comments section!
