Beauty Round-Up
Welcome to another edition of the Beauty Round-up! We’ve scoured some of our favorite beauty blogs and compiled a list of some hot topics despite the cold weather. Want to be featured on our Beauty Round-up? Leave us your link in the comments and we’ll check out your post.
- The “Fob” - A new hair trend seen popping up all over the runways is the faux bob, or the Fob, as Beauty News calls it. Basically, stylists are taking women with long hair and pinning it up underneath, while letting the top layers fall over loosely, thus making it seem like the hair is shorter. It’s an easy trick if you want to mix up your look without sacrificing your length.
- Hot Lips - Bright lip color is all the rage this season, but in order to wear it, you need to make sure it stays put instead of migrating all over your face. That’s never in style. Splendicity has a quick few tips to help you keep the lipstick firmly in place, and not all over your teeth. Just take a few household items like tissue and powder, and you’re good to go for the whole day.
- Twinkle Toes - Everybody likes the way a professional pedicure looks. You are exfoliated and shaped and trimmed, and then you get all that time to sit underneath the UV lights to let the polish dry perfectly. But the reality is that when you’ve got to make do with a DIY pedicure, you probably won’t have the luxury of that kind of time. Viva Woman gives you a couple of tricks for drastically reducing your time spent lacquering.
- Faux Your Eyes Only- If you’re like me, you are totally intimidated by trying to work with fake eyelashes. I love the extra volume and length, but I have no idea how to put them on successfully, much less make them look natural. Scandalous Beauty has a helpful tutorial for those of us who haven’t quite figured out where to start when it comes to lashes.
- Fake Up Make Up - Just for kicks and laughs, check out this fake make up tutorial over at Make up Makes Me Happy. It’s about how to apply your make up like a high school girl, basically outlining every make up “don’t” you can think of. Enjoy!
