Beauty Round-Up
It’s time again for another Beauty Round-up, where we take some of the best from the web’s beauty blogs and beyond and put them all in one place. The Body Shop is always interested to see what other beauty blogs are discovering.
• Entertaining on a Shoestring Budget – With the economy in its current state of frenzy, it’s understandable that people would be looking for creative party ideas that don’t cost a fortune. The frugal minds over at Beauty in Real Life have solicited the advice of David Tutera, who gives several easy and creative tips, like creating a signature cocktail, so you can keep your holiday party at full brilliance. Who knew there were so many fabulous uses for items you can find in your kitchen?
• Quick Holiday Hair – With a slew of holiday parties on the horizon, and not enough time to prepare, it helps to have some easy hair styling tricks in your arsenal to make the most of a limited time frame. A Mom in Red High Heels has helped us all out by posting holiday hairstyles that can be done in a hurry. From quick curls to sexy, messy ponytails, these looks will get you looks when you’re turning heads at that company soiree.
• Kiwi Food for Thought – I love kiwi fruit. It’s got such a vibrant color and distinctive flavor. It’s slightly exotic yet still easy to find in any grocery store. Over at Beauty Blabber, they’ve been singing the praises of kiwi, including its health and beauty benefits. It may be a little fruit, but it packs a big nutritional punch.
• Around the World in Beauty – Ever wondered what women in other countries have to do to make themselves beautiful? We know that beauty standards and practices shift from one culture to the next, but it’s interesting to note the differences and similarities between nations in very different parts of the world. Beauty Banter did a quick global scan to fill you in on what women in other countries are doing to keep themselves at what they see as their most beautiful. From head-shaving to plastic surgery, beauty is still in the eye of the beholder.
• Man Polish – Since men’s grooming has taken more of a visible place in the world of health and beauty care, it isn’t uncommon to come across a man getting a manicure or pedicure to keep himself looking cared for. However, the minds over at All Lacquered Up were wondering about nail polish for men. Is there only a certain kind of man that can pull it off, or is man polish the next big thing?
